Being such a rural area, you will have to look to nearby towns for most dining and shopping opportunities. Nearby Boonton has plenty of places to shop and eat—the following are just a few of the best in the area.One specialty bakery in the area is Sogni Dolci’s Gluten-Free, which offers a variety of baked goods without gluten, including pizza crusts and buns. Just down the road from Sogni Dolci is Dolci D, another gluten-free option with cookies, sweets, and crusts. In nearby Boonton, you can find Il Michelangelo Italian Restaurant, an Italian restaurant serving traditional Sicilian dishes in a stylish lounge setting. Also in Boonton is Boonton Station 1904, a steakhouse with a menu full of classic American fare in a reservation-only setting.

For a local event, attend the Boonton Fire Department Labor Day Carnival and Parade, which is a four-day carnival at Boonton High School’s field and features carnival rides and food trucks. Another popular event in the area is Parking Lot Picassos, a family-oriented chalk drawing contest held at the Boonton Senior Center’s parking lot.
As far as parks and recreation go, there are several outstanding options in the area. Rockaway Valley Aerodrome Fields is a great place to go for sports fields as well as a children’s playground. Another popular park in the area is Griffith Park, which has great green space and access to the Rockaway River. Enjoy a day floating down the Rockaway River as well, for the more adventurous and outdoorsy.
For children in PK through eighth grade, Boonton Township is served by the Boonton Township School District. For high school, most students attend a school in nearby Mountain Lakes.
