I was just talking to a friend about updating her kitchen – not a huge overhaul but she wants it to feel fresh. I suggested paint as the easiest and most cost-effective way to get that new kitchen look. In addition to the all-white kitchens we all know and love, there are some other color trends on the horizon.
Warm White – for those looking to make a subtle change, adding in a warm or off-white color can soften hard lines and keep the space from looking too sterile.
Blue – Create a calm oasis of a kitchen with blue walls or cabinets. Dark, moody blues are all the rage right now thanks to the depth and drama they can bring to a space.
Sage Green – This has been a favorite for the last year or so because it can adapt to a variety of decors – modern, bohemian, Scandinavian and traditional.
Terracotta – Kind of a throwback to the 1970s but it can look ultra-current when paired with wood cabinets, black or white. A little gold for shimmer and you’ll have a show stopper!
Black – Bring in the drama with black cabinets! This color looks ultra-lux when paired with white countertops and backsplash. Don’t want to commit? Try painting lower cabinets black and leaving the upper ones a light, neutral color.
Pink – really! This is a designer favorite for its youthful feel and how it really personalizes a space. If you love it go for it, but if you are planning to make a move in the near future, I may use pink accessories rather than paint.
